About the Role

Global Advisers is seeking a Investment Management Counsel in Princeton, NJ to provide legal advice on investment-adviser regulation, client agreements, products and services, regulatory developments, contracts, and risk matters affecting the firm. The role is designed for professionals who can exercise sound judgment, work collaboratively, and maintain high standards of accuracy, client service, and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management and business teams on investment-management and securities-law matters.
  • Draft and review advisory agreements, disclosures, policies, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, registrations, and significant compliance matters.
  • Assess legal implications of new products, services, technology, and business initiatives.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters.
  • Provide clear, practical legal guidance that distinguishes legal requirements from business preferences.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and eligibility to perform the role's legal work.
  • Seven or more years of relevant legal experience in investment management, securities regulation, financial services, or a related practice.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and judgment.
  • Ability to advise senior leaders on complex and time-sensitive issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with registered investment advisers, the Investment Advisers Act, state securities regulation, or wealth-management legal matters.
  • In-house financial-services experience.
