Retirement Planning Specialist
About the Role
Global Advisers is seeking a Retirement Planning Specialist in Brooklyn, NY to develop retirement-income and distribution strategies for clients approaching or living in retirement, integrating portfolio decisions with taxes, Social Security, Medicare, liquidity, and longevity considerations. The role is designed for professionals who can exercise sound judgment, work collaboratively, and maintain high standards of accuracy, client service, and professional conduct.
Responsibilities
- Analyze retirement readiness, income needs, withdrawal strategies, and portfolio sustainability.
- Evaluate Social Security timing, Medicare considerations, required distributions, and tax-sensitive income sequencing.
- Coordinate retirement-income recommendations with investment strategy and risk management.
- Prepare scenario analyses and client-facing retirement projections.
- Support advisors in complex retirement discussions and implementation planning.
- Maintain current knowledge of retirement-planning rules and planning practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Three or more years of financial planning, retirement planning, wealth management, or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of retirement accounts, distribution planning, Social Security, and tax-aware retirement concepts.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and client communication skills.
- Ability to work across investment, tax, insurance, and estate-planning considerations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFP® certification.
- Retirement Income Certified Professional®, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™, or similar specialization.
